Worker's resistance to change exacerbated conflict

Individuals in a new leadership group sometimes "let their emotions get the better of them", but none of their behaviour constituted bullying, the Fair Work Commission has ruled.

In April 2021 the owner of AJH Leisure – which had provided coaching services to St Anthony's Tennis Club in Sydney for more than 30 years – lodged a stop-bullying application in his capacity as an employee of AJH who worked on the Club's premises.

The Club's management committee had recently implemented changes that negatively affected his business, and the employee accused six members of: engaging in aggressive conduct and "verbal abuse", such as having outbursts in committee meetings and going on "public rants"; making belittling or humiliating comments towards him...
