"Transformation is only possible when individual change occurs at scale"

The need for "future fitness" in organisations has never been more urgent, and according to a global change expert, the right "tech stack" is futile without the right "people stack".

"Transformation is only possible when individual change occurs at scale," Friska Wirya says in her new book The Future Fit Organisation.

"Start compiling the right people, not the right tools, and you will accelerate your transformation. Because it is people who change, not organisations."

It's also the case that people are naturally resistant to change, preferring to cling to what they know and find comfort and safety in what's familiar, Wirya says. Many will need convincing that leaving a comfort zone isn't necessarily "dangerous" and doesn't necessarily mean entering a "discomfort zone". Instead it can lead to "growth, progress and innovation"...
