EX focus moving to 'pebble in your shoe' issues

The big shift in employee experience this year will be a focus on enablement, to address the growing level of friction workers are reporting in their jobs, an EX specialist says.

As organisations have navigated the pandemic, "a lot of them have had to pivot to new ways of working and in many cases do that pretty quickly, and those new ways of working were 'patched' together," Qualtrics EX solution strategist for ANZ, Dr Crissa Sumner tells HR Daily.

"And what we're seeing in our research is they're causing a lot of friction for employees."

One HR leader she spoke to recently said her organisation's EX feedback suggested a widespread 'pebble in your shoe' sentiment among its workforce (referring to the Muhammad Ali quote: "It isn't the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out, it's the pebble in your shoe")...
