The case for remote-first workplaces

Remote-first workplaces are more viable than hybrid, but employers can't take a "half-hearted" approach to the policy, a workplace commentator says.

As soon as organisations have some people in the office and some working from home, "it's going to lead to difficulties in how people get treated on an equal playing field", says Employment Hero CEO Ben Thompson.

"Let's say that there's a team of five people, and three of them work from the office and two of them work remotely, if the three people in the office are in a meeting room, holding a meeting, and the two people who work remotely are always online, they're missing out on really significant parts of the conversation," he tells HR Daily...
