Successful talent development "a two-edged sword"

Investing in staff development can be a two-edged sword when it creates employees who are actively headhunted, but a CPO says the balance weighs in favour of turning high performers into future brand advocates.

Accolade Wines chief people and communications officer Anjanette Murfet says her organisation has worked so hard on building its employment brand and offering development opportunities for its people that it's now recognised as a source of top talent.

"We know that our people are getting actively approached for other roles," she tells HR Daily, and exit interview data shows some mid-level staff have been receiving offers that are up to $40k higher than their current salary...
