Stronger leaders needed to handle tide of employee demands

In a market where employees are demanding more than ever, it's crucial for organisations to build stronger leaders who don't pander to their every whim, an advisor says.

Speaking to HR Daily about key talent strategies for the hot employment market, BBB Advisory director Lyn Trewenack says good leadership is the theme that unites them all.

"We need strong leaders to manage [employees'] activity," she notes, but "we've got quite a few wishy washy ones".

"We've got leaders out there who are just pandering to the whims of the people, and they're pandering to them because they want to retain their staff; they don't want to lose them, so they're giving them anything they want...
