A university has modelled its flexible work approach around six principles, within a framework that prioritises teams above individuals or the organisation as a whole.
Like many other organisations, Macquarie University introduced a flexible work framework to accommodate the new demands of hybrid working, but what sets it apart is its principle-based approach, says vice-president of professional services Nicole Gower.
"It's not rule-based, it doesn't say, 'thou shalt be in the office x number of days' or anything like that," she tells HR Daily.
"It describes different work modes for those different types of work typologies and gives them language for how teams can actually organise their work activities to enjoy true flexibility..."
