"None of us feel like we've got this sorted": Leaders on mental health

Mental health is "perhaps the issue of our time", and "none of us feel like we've got this sorted", Microsoft's Australian managing director says.

Speaking at a Corporate Mental Health Alliance Australia roundtable event this morning, Steven Worrall, who also chairs the Alliance, says it's crucial for large employers to share knowledge and resources on the topic.

Leaders, he says, "have to do more – we have to do a better job".

Navigating the pandemic and setting vaccination policies while trying to keep the business running has made for some of the most challenging years of his career, Worrall says. Employees' feedback on Microsoft's strategies ranged from "that's the best thing, thank you, that's awesome", all the way through to "you should be ashamed of yourself"...
