Longer tenures linked to HR executives' success

After a year of higher-than-usual job mobility and regretted choices, a recruiter is urging HR professionals on the move to be crystal clear about what they want in their next employer, and the value proposition they bring.

The Next Step MD Jo Skipper says over the past six months in particular she has observed a lot of HR professionals reconsidering the moves they made last year.

Many, she says, were a result of getting excited about increased salaries or a particular brand, while demand for HR skills was at its peak.

Skipper says that especially in this softer HR jobs market, when professionals are looking to change roles they need to be clear about their career development goals and focus on "making the right moves"...
