Inadequate investigation of serious allegations caused psych injury

An employer's "ad hoc" approach to a s-xual harassment allegation and its subsequent investigation caused an employee's psychological injury and were not reasonable actions, a commission has found.

The Sydney Night Patrol & Inquiry employee, who worked as a "greeter" at Sydney Airport, alleged he sustained an adjustment disorder with depressed and anxious mood as a result of being verbally abused by managers and colleagues, falsely accused of harassment, and "inappropriately" dismissed.

But his employer denied liability on the basis he hadn't sustained an injury, or alternatively, any injury was caused by reasonable action taken with respect to discipline and/or dismissal...
