"HR should be immersing themselves in what AI can actually do": HR tech leader

Now is the time for HR to be AI's "driving force", as the value of using tools in areas such as performance management and onboarding becomes clearer, according to a human capital innovation specialist.

Generative AI's capabilities are constantly evolving, and for HR there's a "fantastic opportunity to play in the AI space", particularly from an employee experience perspective, says Smart WFM COO Rob Scott.

AI's capability growth in the realm of employee experience has been slower than in other HR tech areas, Scott tells HR Daily, however, "I think we will see that [growth] coming".

"The mindset has predominantly been, 'let's help the HR function make better use of the HR technology'," he says, but this is shifting as tech products increasingly support "managers and employees, as opposed to just an HRM function"...
