How a 'best place to work' is luring employees back to the office

Getting people back to the office is challenging even for employers recognised as 'best places to work', according to a CEO who is experimenting with new ways to reconnect employees.

Despite ranking sixth on the 2023 WrkPlus 'best place to work' list, legal management software provider Smokeball CEO Hunter Steele concedes "disconnectedness" is an issue for his organisation.

"I feel like there's a new norm setting in, where the hype of 'COVID work from home' is gone and people are feeling a little bit more disconnected than what they were," Steele tells HR Daily.

"Although they would like to feel more connected, they also don't want to come to the office. They're in this kind of internal struggle...
