Growth via offshoring held back by misconceptions

Offshoring is enabling many organisations to grow more quickly, but it's not yet broadly adopted due to some misconceptions, a talent advisor says.

Dan Nuroo, founder of The Talent Initiative, says offshoring can save companies huge sums and help mid-sized businesses compete with larger competitors but an existing "cultural superiority" stops organisations from engaging overseas talent.

Leaders tend to think people who haven't worked before in the organisation's country "are not as good", he tells HR Daily.

"There is still a flavour about (offshoring) that not everyone gets, there's still an assumption that the quality isn't as good because it's not (in Australia)"...
