Execs will be knocking on HR's door; be ready with a strategic plan

The amount of regulatory change happening now is set to take many executives by surprise, but HR has a small window to recalibrate before they come "knocking on the door", a workplace expert says.

Three different entities with three related agendas – the Australian Human Rights Commission with its regulatory authority to investigate sexual harassment and discrimination, workplace safety authorities requiring a psychologically safe work environment, and the Workplace Gender Equality Agency with its requirements around pay equity transparency – will have those executives who haven't already knocked on HR's door, "suddenly very, very interested in these topics", Qualtrics XM Institute's principal catalyst Dr Cecelia Herbert tells HR Daily.

The implications will be different for every organisation, but one response in particular will be appropriate for all: ensuring they are listening to their employees...
