The Australian Information Commissioner has upheld an employer's decision not to share details of its rejected job applicants with a candidate who suspected its selection process was biased.
The request dates back to 2018, when an individual who had applied for employment with the Fair Work Ombudsman sought access to all email correspondence and records held about them from 14 June to 1 August of that year.
The FWO informed the applicant it had identified 90 relevant documents. Relying on exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act, it refused access to seven documents, but granted access to 22 and partial access to 61 documents...
