Employer loses bid to cut redundancy pay; redeployment offer was "detrimental"

A redeployment offer was "clearly a demotion" for an employee, the Fair Work Commission has ruled in rejecting an employer's bid to reduce her 13-week redundancy entitlement.

The Sales Link Australasia employee was hired as a full-time team leader, earning $95k per annum, in 2015.

Earlier this year the employer, which operates a grocery merchandising business, implemented a centralised help desk to coordinate field operations, rendering all team leader roles redundant.
