Employer fails to block psych claim for "severe overload" due to understaffing

An employer could not reasonably argue that an employee's perception of "chronic understaffing" and limited support was not in fact "a reality", a tribunal has found in psychological injury proceedings.

The Tasmanian Department of Health paramedic and deployment supervisor claimed compensation for a psychological injury caused by "severe overload" in his duties due to "chronic understaffing".

The employer disputed liability on the basis it had a "reasonably arguable case" that the employee's injury resulted from its reasonable administrative actions relating to staff shortages...
