Employees expected to "feed and water" remote culture

Encouraging employees to take ownership of culture is helping an employer keep its remote workforce highly engaged, its people leader says.

It's "challenging" to build a thriving culture in a remote environment, and transformation consultancy Contino's people director Laura Petruccelli says it's crucial to help employees understand how they contribute to the bigger picture.

"There's a lot less focus today on a culture resting simply on relationships. A culture forms as soon as you put a couple of people in a room, but you no longer have people in a room. So how do you do that?" Petruccelli says.
