Employee satisfaction and compliance challenges a fine balance with overseas work

Global mobility programs can help employers provide flexible, non-linear careers and a rich variety of experiences, but as demand multiplies, so do the challenges, KPMG leaders warn.

In a new report on employees' changing expectations around pay, borders, mobility and life, US-based KPMG principals Katherine Avery and Felicia Lyon say that to achieve the maximum benefits of a mobility scheme, the opportunities on offer need to be connected, transparent and equitable.

"This means ensuring all employees have ready access to information about mobility opportunities through a unified point of entry (e.g. intranet). Employees should understand what movement opportunities are available, what levels and roles might qualify, and what the path is to attain them. It also means designing programs that are balanced and fair to the employee, the business and other stakeholders..."
