"Dysfunctional" employer enabled "extremely flawed" dismissal

An employer's dysfunction enabled an "extremely flawed" dismissal of an employee, one week after it promoted her, and it then displayed a "lack of professionalism" during unfair dismissal proceedings, the Fair Work Commission has found.

The employee claimed she was unfairly sacked from her position as the academic dean at the International Institute of Business and Technology (Australia), and sought compensation.

The employer disputed her claim, however, arguing she was not dismissed but had instead resigned...
