BHP "designing with" employees to bolster their experience

BHP has changed direction on some former priorities to improve its employee experience, after strengthening feedback loops and tuning in to moments that matter.

Employee experience "is one of the most overused terms in HR" and has a broad spectrum of definitions, says BHP's global head of people strategy, HR technology and governance, Elisa Nerone.

BHP has a workforce of 80,000 predominantly deskless workers, and it aims to "create that environment from an experience perspective where people feel empowered, safe, it's inclusive, and that they can grow and develop", she told a panel discussion at SAP's recent HR Connect Sydney.
