"Abusive", "nasty" communications caused GM's psych injury

A general manager who was verbally abused, micromanaged, and pressured to work outside of her contracted hours has been awarded compensation for a psychological injury.

The NSW Personal Injury Commission rejected the GM's injury was wholly or predominantly caused by reasonable action taken with respect to performance appraisal and/or dismissal, and found multiple incidents occurred throughout her employment that she perceived to be bullying.

The general manager of an aged care facility was dismissed in June 2022, about a month after she went on sick leave, and she subsequently sought workers' compensation for a psychological injury, but the employer denied liability...
