Career websites missing the mark on candidate attraction

Too many career websites focus on what an organisation wants, rather than potential benefits for the candidate, according to an employment marketing expert.

Talent Table director Andrea Kirby, a researcher and judge of the Top Career Site awards, says potential applicants want to see where a job might take them – but her research shows career websites contain "a sad dearth of information on career opportunities".

Most people want to broaden their skills base as they progress through their careers, and although plenty of employers offer upskilling opportunities, most of this information doesn't make it on to the careers website, she tells HR Daily....
