Presenteeism a "red flag" for hybrid workplaces

A "wave of uncertainty" is causing hybrid employees not to use their sick leave, but this is driving up toxic presenteeism, a wellbeing specialist says.

Though the broader concept isn't new, the pandemic and shift to hybrid work has put a "spotlight" on presenteeism, says Springfox CEO Stuart Taylor.

"At the end of the day though, presenteeism is where I am showing up to work when my brain isn't switched on, or worse than that, I am showing up to work and doing my work but I'm actually not fully engaged to my strengths," he says.
