"Work pace" and "hours of power" key to preventing burnout

Managing energy, not time, is critical to driving productivity while alleviating burnout, a performance coach says.

Cognitive energy is "the energy our brain uses to do its thing", says Next Evolution Performance co-founder and CEO Vanessa Bennett.

The brain "doesn't like to work harder than it needs to" and will take shortcuts where it can, she notes.
