With only three months until all workers are entitled to access paid family and domestic vi-lence leave, a lawyer is urging employers to start reviewing their policies and procedures now.
As reported yesterday, the Senate passed the Federal Government's Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave Bill, which inserts an entitlement into the National Employment Standards for 10 days' paid leave for full-time, part-time and casual workers.
The entitlement is due to start on 1 February 2023 for most employees, while small businesses have an extra six months to prepare, and Squire Patton Boggs senior associate Carly Corbett-Burns says HR professionals "need to be ready" for FDV leave requests to come through "immediately"...
