Same job, same pay proposals "ignorant" and clumsy: employers

The Federal Government's proposed 'same job, same pay' reforms are "ignorant" of the factors that determine workers' wages, and too broad and clumsy to work in practice, employer representatives say.

In a new consultation paper, the Government says its 'same job, same pay' measure "seeks to address the limited circumstances in which host employers use labour hire to deliberately undercut the bargained wages and conditions set out in enterprise agreements made with their employees".

Following consultation undertaken last year, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations says it is now seeking feedback on the direction the Government should take in implementing the measure...
