Return-to-work mandates increasing introvert "angst"

As employees face mounting pressure to return to the office, introverts in particular are being affected and conflicts that have been simmering for years are rising to the fore.

Of the conflict risks now increasing among workforces, the "biggest one without a doubt" stems from encouraging employees back to the office, Growth Wave managing director Yan Kruger tells HR Daily.

However, while a lot of employees are feeling "uncomfortable" about this, they're experiencing and expressing their discomfort in different ways, he says.

Extroverts are more compelled to voice their concerns directly and openly, for example, while introverted people are less likely to "speak up". Instead, they "expect their leader to understand", which is contributing to the rise in return-to-work "angst"...
