Researchers are calling on employers and governments to protect workers from increasingly common "out-of-hours intrusions", after finding these "boundary infringements" elevate workplace stress.
The study by Australian, US and European researchers of nearly 900 workers found respondents reported higher stress levels and depressive moods associated with managers contacting them or requesting responses outside of work hours.
