Labor proposes rules around workplace AI; Tech reshaping L&D

Employers that seek to voluntarily restructure their workforce to take advantage of artificial intelligence technologies will have a responsibility to support and upskill their current employees to prevent unnecessary redundancies, Labor is proposing in a draft policy.

The ALP's Draft National Platform outlines policy ideas to be discussed at this year's National Conference, which starts in Brisbane on Thursday.

The platform notes that Labor will seek to maximise the benefits of artificial intelligence and quantum technologies, and "position Australia at the forefront of technological change to lift national productivity and competitiveness and improve the living standards of all"...
