IR reforms coming next week: no more pay secrecy clauses; and more

The Labor Government will introduce legislation for the first of its industrial relations reforms next week, Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke has announced, and employers are already expressing "deep frustration".

The Secure Jobs, Better Pay Bill will deliver on some pre-election promises as well as outcomes from the Jobs and Skills Summit, Burke says.

Today's announcement does not include any mention of 'same job, same pay' reforms, which are widely expected to be announced next year, nor of multi-employer bargaining, against which employer groups have expressed strong opposition...
