Providing flexibility for employees at all levels should be a top benefits priority for employers in 2023, new research shows.
Mercer's latest Australian Benefits Review, which is based on data from 402 organisations, shows 81% are now using formal strategies or policies to support flexible work arrangements, up from 76% last year and 63% in 2018.
The proportion of employers offering flexitime has also been rising steadily – 84% compared to 81% last year and 69% in 2018.
The report says leaders must ensure their benefits are supporting an employee experience that effectively attracts, retains and engages staff, noting that its Global Talent Trends study found two in three employees will only join a company if they can work remotely or in a hybrid environment...
