Five personas emerging from "extreme" workplace flexibility

Having experienced "extreme" flexibility during the pandemic, a new generation of employees is emerging, with people typically aligning with one of five personas, new research shows.

Employees' perceptions and experiences over the past couple of years have changed their work identities, according to management consultancy Bendelta's survey of more than 1,000 workers.

Some 69% of respondents now identify as 'remote-centric', preferring to spend 40% or less of their time in the office; 15% identify as 'office-centric', preferring to spend more than 60% of their time in the office; and 16% have no strong preference either way, it found.

The research, which is set out in the inaugural Worksona 2022 report, reveals consistencies in employees' experiences with remote working, their capacity to collaborate, their receptiveness to new office policies, and hybrid work's impact on their work-life balance.
