A cut-down version of the Closing Loopholes Bill has passed through both Houses of Parliament.
In a press conference this morning, Employment Minister Tony Burke said the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes) Bill 2023 would be "divided into Closing Loopholes and Closing Loopholes 2".
He said that with today's support from Senators Jacqui Lambie and David Pocock, the Senate voted to: stop companies underpaying workers through labour hire arrangements; criminalise wage theft; better protect workers subjected to family and domestic violence from workplace discrimination...
