Employee on fixed-term contract had "reasonable" expectation of ongoing work

An employee held a "reasonable and understandable expectation" that his employment would continue past the end date of his fixed-term contract, the Fair Work Commission has found, in clearing him to pursue a general protections claim.

Volunteer Marine Rescue objected to the state training officer's claim on the basis he hadn't been dismissed, but rather his contract had ended due to the effluxion of time.
