"Energy vampires" make wellbeing conversations lighter, more targeted

Employees are looking for an "antidote" to what they've been through during the pandemic, but are tired of being asked "how are you?", a wellbeing specialist says.

Mental health conversations currently hold a lot of "negative baggage, shame, and stigma," says Energx CEO Sean Hall.

"We're also seeing that the focus on talking about mental health is creating stress that people are feeling that they will be forced to do this," he tells HR Daily.

"There's only so many times you can ask 'how are you?'. The most human KPI for any wellbeing program should be an observable increase in the quality and frequency of meaningful self-care conversations happening with a shared language."
