Critical time for manager training amid rising workplace complaints

Against a backdrop of escalating pressures and workplace complaints, equipping managers to handle performance and other issues more effectively will help lessen the likelihood of claims, a lawyer says.

The combined impact of resignations, COVID-related absences and remote work challenges is dramatically increasing workloads for many key personnel, says NB Lawyers director Jonathan Mamaril.

And while Australia isn't experiencing a widespread 'Great Resignation' like some other countries, Mamaril says at the key personnel level there's a definite trend of people moving to "greener pastures".

"It's going to manifest in some way. It manifests sometimes in resignations – people leave and go somewhere else – it manifests in work health claims, complaints, bullying claims, Workcover claims, and it's quite prevalent," he tells HR Daily...
