Case study: Rethinking employee development at PwC

PwC has overhauled its approach to employee development as part of its new 'people value proposition', its head of people and culture says.

"As we stared into the challenges that were being created by COVID – and generally, given the talent market that we're operating in – we knew that we had to do something different, and we knew that we had to do something that really responded to what our employees were telling us," PwC head of people and culture Catherine Walsh tells HR Daily.

"It was really starting with that data and insight, as well as the feedback that we get from our employees about the things that they valued and were important to them."

The new approach has received "amazing support" from the executive board, while leaders "were up for the challenge", and Walsh says the updated PVP is underpinned by four pillars...
