"Clear dislike" of supervisor distorted injured worker's perceptions

An employee has failed to prove a supervisor's "tirade of abuse" aggravated her post-traumatic stress disorder, with a commission finding her "clear dislike" for him distorted her perspective.

The Securecorp Qld Pty Ltd security officer sought workers' compensation for the psychiatric injury, claiming it was caused by an interaction with her supervisor, but the Workers' Compensation Regulator denied liability.

In her appeal to the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, the employee claimed that during a night shift in September 2019, she began feeling unwell and twice tried to contact the supervisor, who was on call, however he didn't answer his phone.

The supervisor called back several hours later, before arriving on site around 540am...
