Announcement: Help your employees improve their financial health.

The workplace is a natural place to offer financial education because it's where employees are all faced with financial decisions about how to manage their pay, their super and other benefits. Financial education can help to reduce employees' stress about personal finances, which can significantly improve the productivity and the culture of the working environment.

Initiatives of MoneySmart Week 2012 include:

  • A free online tool, the Money Health Check, which provides users with simple steps to help themselves, including a personalised action plan to improve their finances;

  • A National Awards program to recognise outstanding achievements in financial education. The Awards include a category for workplaces;

  • A range of special activities and events in workplaces and the community; and

  • A wealth of information, including presentations and tools to help employers deliver their own financial education programs on the MoneySmart website.

Employers can get involved in MoneySmart Week by conducting their own workplace financial education event. Your event might be as simple as a morning tea to demonstrate the Money Health Check tool to your employees. Or it could be a seminar or a workshop covering a particular topic to help employees understand an aspect of their finances.

For more information or to register your workplace event go to: www.moneysmartweek.org.au
